FS2002 Scenery Downloads (page 1)

The sceneries below are all located in the Timberwolf service area. Those constructed specifically for Timberwolf Aviation included TWA in the title. The remaining sceneries provide excellent charter destinations for TWA pilots and some may be included in the schedule as time goes. They are included here for download with the permission of their authors. Many of these sceneries will work in FS2000 as well. (Note that many of these sceneries require the Tree macros of Garrish Grays. Some include them, others do not. You can download them separately below and install them once directly into the FS2002 Scenery and Texture files.)

Scenery File
Description
FoxCamp

by Naji Chehabeddine
The first in the series Naji's Bush Scenery for FS2002, Fox Camp is located in the extreme southeast of Alaska, deep in the enigmatic Misty Fjords. It is almost 65 kms (40 miles) east of Ketchikan. Fox Camp is a fishing camp, where visitors come to spend their vacation days fishing like they've never done before. Experienced guides are available on camp to teach novices how to fish, and to show experienced fishermen the most bountiful spots. Sports can choose tents or log cabins for accommodation. Food, mostly fish, is prepared in the kitchen cabin. Visitors may also arrive with their own small planes. The beach fronting the camp on the fjord is smooth enough to receive wheeled aircraft.
A bonus outpost scenery is included in the package. It is called Fox Outpost1, and is just a smallish camp away from base camp. It is almost 13 kms (8 miles) northeast of Fox Camp. It is located on a lake deep in the mountains. Sports are taken there for the excellent fishing. To reach it, just follow the river at the east end of the fjord where Fox Camp is located. (Uses Garrish Grays' Trees)

SandyCove

by Naji Chehabeddine
The second in the series Naji's Bush Scenery for FS2002, Sandy Cove is a warehousing outpost, set up to receive and store goods from cities and towns in SE Alaska, for redistribution to the outlying communities and bush locations in the Misty Fjords. It features several warehouses, an administration office, and an accommodation area to house staff and workers. Merchandise is brought in mainly by cargo floatplanes, which make extensive use of the docks there. Still, some shipments come in by wheeled aircraft that can use the beach. Smaller bush planes then distribute goods as ordered by the bush locations. (Uses Garrish Grays' Trees)

Fox23

by Naji Chehabeddine
This is a package of two bush sceneries, Fox Outposts 2 & 3. Located in the Misty Fjords of SE Alaska, they follow the theme of Fox Camp, the holiday fishing camp released earlier. These two are smallish campsites, where the more experienced sportsmen vacationing at Fox Camp could be taken to find the better spots for fishing. Fox Outpost 2 features a cabin and a camping site around a lake that is tough to maneuver around: once in, you'd better land, otherwise you risk getting trapped inside high cliffs. Fox Outpost 3 features a cabin occupied by a trapper almost yearlong. He lends a hand when sports are brought for fishing on the lake. If you think Fox Outpost 2 is difficult to get in and out, then wait till you see the tight passage that will align you for landing in no 3. Tough locations both, but this is where the fishing is like no other place. (Uses Garrish Grays' Trees)

Moudi Farm

by Naji Chehabeddine
Alaska does not rely on agriculture as much as it does on its natural resources, like oil, gas, timber, and on mining. Still, and in spite of the harsh weather, some folks earn their livelihood from agriculture. This is the case of Moudi Farm, located in the Misty Fjords of SE Alaska, where the owners have succeeded in raising cool-weather crops for many years. Bush communities in the area have come to rely in large part on Moudi Farm's vegetable produce. Bush pilots and boatmen in the area are called upon to pick up and deliver produce on request. To make access easy, the farm built a dock for floatplanes and boats, and laid a dirt airstrip for wheeled planes. (Uses Garrish Grays' Trees)

DevilsCanyonLodge

by Tom Fica
Devils Canyon Lodge is famous for it's hunting and fishing and the guides that it employs are some of the best in Alaska. Other activities you can enjoy while you're there are hiking, camping, trail rides and in winter cross-country skiing and snow machineing If you prefer solitude you can fly out to the remote cabin at Angel Lake.
There are float docks at both locations and the Lodge has an 1800 ft grass strip, however it's not very well maintained. There is no strip at Angel Lake but on the South side of the lake is a large clearing, you shouldn't have any problem getting in and out of there with any bush aircraft. (Uses Garrish Grays' Trees)

Trees

by Garrish Grays
This is a set of add on scenery *.bgl files and texture files used by many FS2000 and FS2002 scenery designers. Many designers include them in their packages. However, you can load them once into your main FS Scenery and Texture folders and never have to fool with them again. In the future, to conserve space, many scenery packages requiring the Tree macros will not include them in the download.

Funter Bay

by Joe Watson
Funter Bay (FNR) is a real float plane base in Alaska, 11 miles southwest of Juneau . This one is fictional. The real base is a weather station. There is enough room to land on the beach for wheeled aircraft. Watch the trees, if you snag one, you are going to ding the plane! There is fuel here for float planes, just pull up to the pier on the side between the fuel pumps.

ShorePoint by Naji Chehabeddine
The Misty Fjords of SE Alaska have seen booming tourism in the past decade. Kayaking, hiking, salmon fishing, are pretty popular in the wonderful waterways of the Fjords. The Forestry Service, in an attempt to improve facilities for visitors, has put plans to increase the number of cabins and huts in the wilderness of the rain forests. These are to be used by hikers who walk the trails, and by folks who wish to rent cabins in search of quietude. A local building contractor out of Ketchikan has been hired to build numerous cabins at different locations. The builder has seen fit to make a base camp in the area, where staff and workers will be based for the duration of the work. An airstrip and a dock were built to facilitate the transport of personnel and building materials from Ketchikan.

Alaska Docks 1 by Dave Erickson
Alaskan Docks SE: Package #1 For FS2002 - Includes 4 float plane destinations in SE Alaska, The Oscar Johnson Logging Co., Hood Bay Cannery, Juneau Municipal dock, and the Northern Lumber Company. A couple of these destinations can also land a small wheeled aircraft, but the landing will be bumpy.
Alaska Docks 2 by Dave Erickson
Alaskan Docks 2: Aleutian Islands - One hundred and fifty wet, cold, and remote Islands of the Aleutian Chain extend westward more than a thousand miles from the tip of the Alaskan Peninsula out into the Pacific Ocean. This download includes 9 float plane facilities starting at Dutch Harbor, the last port of call in the Alaska Marine Highway system, and terminating at Casco Cove (USCG) at the western tip of the chain. The destinations are spread out in 100 mile hops. Most include an associated airstrip for wheeled aircraft. (Uses Garrish Grays' Trees)
Sockeye Lake

by Tom FICA
Sockeye Lake got it's name because of the large number of Sockeye Salmon (Red Salmon) that run to it to spawn. During the summer this lake and the streams in the area are teeming with fish. This is a great place for a fly-in fishing trip.
There are two cabins on this lake, one is a large modern cabin with all the comforts of home. The other is an old but well maintained trappers cabin. Both are for rent. Which one you stay at depends on your style and the balance in your checkbook.
Wherever you stay I hope that you enjoy this lake, just don't catch them all.

BritishColumbia(2002), BCupdate1, BCupdate2,
BCupdate3 and BCupdate4
by Paul Jansen (all three required)
This series of scenery packages adds detail to a number of BC airfields and floatplane bases. In addition, it adds several bush destinations that have been modeled based on Paul's personal experience. (Uses Garrish Grays' Trees)
Beluga2 by Tom FICA
Beluga Lake is the seaplane base located in Homer, Alaska. It is a moderately busy airport averaging about 100 take offs and landings per week during the summer. In winter the lake freezes and it is used somewhat by aircraft equipped with skis. However, until we can figure out how to freeze FS2002 water, you'll have to use floatplanes here year round.
This scenery has been created to be as accurate as possible, the buildings and docks here are based on what is at Beluga Lake in the real world. However in reality there are more buildings than depicted in this scenery.
The area between the road that crosses the lake and the ocean is actually a tidal flat and should be land except when the tide is in. You'll have to assume that the tide is in continually when using this scenery.
I hope that you enjoy "Beluga Lake".

BFU North by Naji Chehabeddine
Bush Flying Unlimited, BFU, is a small outfit that operates in Washington state. It was formed by a small group of bush pilots who have made a good name with customers. Lured by the wilderness of the Great North, they have set plans to expand their operations to SE Alaska. They have chosen the stunning surroundings of Ketchikan to set up their FBO for the North. Bold Island will serve as their base; it is a tiny, heavily forested, tear-shaped piece of land, situated a few miles southeast of Ketchikan and on the gates to the Misty Fjords. With construction just completed, the FBO features a decent airfield that can handle small and medium-sized props, a dock for floatplanes and boats, communication facilities, maintenance workshop and stores, a field office, and accommodation to house bush pilots on rotation basis. A fuel area exists between the construction cones near the fuel tank. Hidden in the thick forests of the island, you will also find camping sites and vacation cabins. The island features an NDB with a frequency of 515 kHz. Its ID is BFUn.
Tenakee Lodge version 2

by Dan Morand
This update to TWA's first scenery adds a number of buildings including a barn and coral with horse for those back country trips. The update includes a short gravel air strip to allow those of us who are "coordination challenged" (at least with respect to helicopters) to get guest into and out of the lodge.

BearsOutpost-YK

by Michael Carr
Welcome to a laid back, downhome friendly place to fly! Bears Outpost, located in Northern Canada, situated on the icy shores of the Yukon Territory, is a small trading/tourist community, accessible only by boat, helicopter, or small aircraft. With a small 1100 ft dirt runway, surrounded by the town, it is a challenge to land. You also have the option for a water landing (if it isn’t frozen) with two open water hangers for float planes and a large T-shaped pier.

Rendezvous_BC by Frank Betts
This is a nice little Airstrip to come into. It has a nice little Lodge. There is also a Trading post with a fuel storage area. It has a nice little observation tower that is run by 'Clutch Cargo Air' Multiplayers have a special parking spot available, just look for the parking sign. Have fun and look out for that drop off at the end of the runway!
Merrill Pass by Tom Fica
If you ever take a VFR flight from the Anchorage or Upper Cook Inlet area into the Bristol Bay drainage aera west of the Alaska Range, chances are you will fly through Merrill Pass. Because the highest point in Merrill Pass is only about 3200ft it is a major VFR air route connecting these two areas. This scenery puts cabins and landing areas at the two lakes that are at the entrances at either side of this pass. On the east side of Merrill Pass is Kenibuna Lake, here you'll find an abandened trappers cabin. This cabin is in a serious state of disrepair, but the roof doesn't leak too bad. The old grass strip is overgrown and the dock is in poor condition, but if you need a place to hold up and wait for the weather in the pass to clear, this spot is a good option.
BCupdate3 by Paul Jansen (Requires Paul's previous BC Scenery above & the ASD Textures)
In this update you will find the village of Bella Coola, the docks, and an old fish Cannery across the bay from the Bella Coola docks. I have also done some enhancements at the Denny Island airstrip and the Campbell Island airstrip. These are default airstrips in FS2002. I have placed random freighters in some of the channels. At Denny Island I added a floatplane base. This is fictitious as I don't know if there is one there. You will find it if you are flying off the runway to the west. It will be below the hill. If you take of to the East, fly until you reach the channel then head south. You will see the BC Ferry I created. If you were to fly toward Prince Rupert and follow some of the main channels you should come across the odd freighter.
ASD2.1 Textures ASD textures required by some of the scenery downloads.
East Twin Lake

by Bear Baker
This scenery is a fishing camp on East Twin Lake about 75nm SW of Fairbanks (N 64* 26' W 150* 39'). It includes a tent camp run by TWA with a couple of floored wall tents, a dock and a couple of Colman John Boats w/motors. At the other end of the lake are two privately owned cabins with a common dock. This is a close to real scenery of a place my son and I have fished. The outfitter, a bush pilot flying out of Chena Marina, use to take clients out for any length stay they liked...usually a few days. We would fly out with him when he was going to pick up a party and fish all night (remember the sun doesn't go down) and fly back with him after he droped off his next party. Great pike fishing, especially on dry flys right after ice out. Have fun.

BeaverDown_Default
BeaverDown_Denney

by Bear Baker
A DHC-2 Beaver is missing on a flight from Whitehorse, YK to Haines Alaska. The pilot and his wife reported their last position as ~26 nm from YXY on a bearing of 157. There was brief contact sufficient to indicate that they were alive after putting the Beaver down. They are believed to be West of the course filed in their flight plan (see the included map). The area is mountainous with peaks in excess of 7000' but there are a number of alpine meadows and valleys in the 3000-5000' range. Extreme care is urged for all participating pilots…we don't need to come looking for you as well. Their son has been contacted and informed us that they had their survival gear on board when they left Kelowna yesterday for Whitehorse. He recalls their tent being orange. The Beaver on skies and the Bell 206 are available in Whitehorse. The Otter on Skies is available out of Juneau.

Shemya, AK by Page Cline
Shemya island is
Located approximately 1400 miles west of Anchorage and 1800 miles from Tokyo, Shemya appears to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Actually, it is part of the Semichi (or Near) islands about 35 miles east of Attu, Alaska. Shemya was the staging area for US armed forces for the battle of Attu in May 1943. It has been controlled by the military most of its history. I was stationed there in 1969 while in the Air Force. In those days, when they said remote duty, they meant REMOTE! We called Shemya the "Black Pearl of the Aleutians".
BFUbc, Atlin Lake by Naji Chehabeddine
After the successful launch of BFU North, the base in SE Alaska, BFU is now starting bush operations in northern British Columbia, Canada. BFU bc is located near Atlin. The area is reputed to have exquisite natural beauty. This scenery of the base is very detailed and has fantastic FS2002 effects: a) Because electricity is scarse, the airstrip is lit by burning oildrums placed along the strip. Some drums are lit all daylong to help pilots spot the runway on those frequent foggy days; more drums are only ignited in the afternoon and evening to illuminate better the strip in darkness. b) The base grounds are illuminated by live torches. Construction hasn't finished yet on the base, but soon will be... lol. Horses have been brought for those BFU staff who like to ride on the island. Sailing is encouraged as a pastime. A fuel area exists near the fuel tanks. There is an NDB with a frequency of 515 Khz, detectable at a distance of 30nm or less. Its ID is BFUbc. (Requires Airport and Nova Textures....read the installation instruction carefully.)
Wild Yukon by Naji Chehabeddine
Wild Yukon is a logging camp for a lumber company operating in the Yukon Territory of Canada. Extensive logging operations are undertaken there. The camp lies in heavy forests. It features a dirt runway, lit by two burning drums, a dock lit by torches, accomodation for staff, etc. This package also has a smaller bush scenery, a camping site called Wild1, that sits on a river in a forested hill. The campsite has a few tents. A small wheeled bush plane can be used to access the campsite by landing in the sandy stretch of river. NEW: unfortunately, fires break out at times in the forests, either from reckless actions by campers or from natural causes. Forest fire effects are simulated in this scenery, just to the north of Wild1, in the months of June and July, in the first three days of each month. So now you can go out and help extinguish these fires with water dumps!
FishTrap Lodge

by Tom Fica
A small resort located in the foothills of the Alaska Range about 50 miles north of Illimna This lake is home to an upscale wilderness lodge offering a true sense of the Alaskan bush with first class accommodations. Also included are a couple of smaller cabins and a small grass airstrip.

KetchicanHeliport

Frank Betts
This scenery adds a heliport and small trauma care facility to the default Ketchican airport scenery.

Port Williams by Dan Morand
KPR1 provides a base for helicopter operations on scheduled Port Williams runs and for offshore charter work. Custom objects include a quonset hangar, crew quarters for R.O.N. flights, a maintenance shop and overhead night lighting. You can use the pad connected to the hangar if you like a challenge, or the larger "transient traffic" pad if you like lots of room for your landings. The transient pad has night lighting conforming to information in the Canada Flight Supplement. I'm not sure if the U.S. lighting system differs but if it does I'd like the info if anyone has it. Dawn/dusk approaches can be made safely enough but night flights will be tricky as the terrain doesn't provide a suitable night approach to either pad. (Currently limited to FS2002 with default scnery only.)
PAFA FloatOps by Bear Baker
Included is scenery for TWA's Float Operations Center on the float basin at PAFA. This scenery installs several small buildings, adds a gravel road connecting the existing ramp and taxiway to the FloatOps parking lot. Miscellaneous crates, a dock with fuel and a couple of other TWA aircraft are included. This scenery includes a starting location, near the dock.
PAFA FloatBasin by Bear Baker
Included is scenery for enhancement of TWA's Float Operations Center on the float basin at PAFA. This scenery installs several additional aircraft parked on the shores of the float basin, a dock or two and a set of buoys marking the "runway" on the float basin. I did not include this scenery with the PAFA FloatOps scenery in order to give you the choice of installing or not installing depending on the frame rate hit your system can absorb. If you install this scenery and find the frame rate unacceptable, you can uninstall it and still have the FloatOps scenery active.
West Twin Lake by Bear Baker
This scenery is a fishing camp on Dune Lake about 80 nm SW of Fairbanks (N 64* 26.1' W 150* 51.3'). It includes a cabin owned by TWA with a dock and with a zodiac w/motor. There are two other cabins on the lake. One has not been used all season and may be up for sale (go to look into that). Doc George who flew up in his Super Cub a few days ago owns the other cabin.
Dune Lake

By Bear Baker
This scenery is a fishing camp on Dune Lake about 60 nm SW of Fairbanks (N 64* 25.6' W 149* 53.9'). It includes a cabin owned by TWA with a dock and a couple of Coleman John Boats w/motors. Across the lake is an area often used for fly in camping.

Alaska Lighthouses By Bob Langendorfer and Ed Neuhauser

AVSIM BFU Base By Naji Chehabeddine
This is a major base in the bush, located in SE Alaska, on Kuiu island in the Alexander Archipelago. The base offers lots of features: an asphalt runway for the heavier planes, a dirt airstrip for bush planes, busy docks, a flying school, a spot for gliders on a nearby hill, large hangars, out of the way cabins. There are forest fires to be extinguished, plus fireworks display once a month in celebration of setting up the base, etc. The forest fires break out in June, July and August, on days 1, 2 and 3 of these months. The fireworks display takes place on the 25th of every month, between 2130 and 2145 hrs exactly. There is an NDB near the base, frequency 515 Khz.
Chekok Lake By Tom Fica
Chekok Lake is located 25 miles NNW of Illiamna. This is a small scenery of a hunting camp on the lake. There is no strip, but if your in wheels you can probably find a place to land.
Kaguyak Crater By Tom Fica
Kaguyak is a volcano in Katmai National Park. An explosive eruption in about 325 A.D was one of the largest known historic eruptions in North America. This eruption removed much of the top of the volcano to create a caldera. The caldera now contains a crater lake, and a new dome has grown inside the caldera. This is the peninsula on the south side of the lake. The USGS in conjunction with the National Volcano Observatory and the University of Alaska have set up this field station to monitor volcanic activity in the area. It is also used by students who come to the area to study and do geological research.

In the early 1950's he built this cabin to serve as a base for these flights. The Sheldon family still own the cabin and it is rented out to climbers and others who just want to spend some time on the mountain.

These files are cities and towns in Alaska that Microsoft left out. They are small in size and easy to install. I have used Topozone.com to see where the cities and towns are in relation to the airport. They are as accurate as I can make them, but they are not supposed to be accurate.
Moser Bay

By Tom Fica
Moser Bay is an inhancement of the default seaplane base located at the south end of Kodiak Island. It seems appropriate that this scenery be dedicated to my friend, Don Moser! Don has done more than anyone I know to encourage the intrest in FlightSim bush flying.

Nestled in a deep valley in the Misty Fjords area along the shores of a mountain lake, the lodge features two spacious cabins and a communal lodge with dining, bar and entertainment facilities. True outdoorsmen, however, prefer to rough it more and often backpack with JD's guides miles into the country in search of fish and game.

AlaskaCommuter_9

By Dave Erickson
Enhancements to 50 land-based airports in Northern Alaska. Includes static aircraft and additional airport structures as well as easy to install landclass files. These landclass files add small villages and stands of conifers that blanket the surrounding areas. The experience can be further enhanced with autogen tree replacements by either Ed Truthan or Gerrish Gray (download separately). This will greatly improve the look of autogen conifers, and multiply their numbers significantly. The results are realistic approaches over thickly forested areas into bush airports with small nearby communities, and it is fairly gentle on frame rates. If you download this scenery, and if you are not using these replacement trees, I recommend (no, I insist) that you download one of those utilities now. Look for "conifers.zip" by Ed Truthan or "MSTrees2.zip" by Gerrish Gray.
