| Heckman
Lake Ranch |
By
Brent Hricziscse
Heckman Lake Ranch_HLR1 (fictional) is located in SE Alaska
approx. 6mi East of Loring(13Z) and 13.5nm N of Ketchikan(PAKT)
on Heckman Lake. Coordinates: N55 34.57 W131 32.44 Altitude
145.4ft It has a dirtstrip (15/33), L1200ft X W42ft, barracks,
cabin, small planeport and a gas cache. Scenery complexity
setting in FS2K2 should be at 'DENSE' or above. The available
facilities are used on a 'first come first served' basis by
hikers, hunters and fishermen. Cattle roam the area and belong
to the nearby (real-life) Orton Ranch. |
| Grey
Otter Landing |
By
Dale Westlund
Grey Otter Landing is a combination ranger station and recreational
area in the Ketchikan Alaska area. It has a 1500 foot dirt
runway and is also accessable by float plane. A slow approach
is required as the strip can be pretty decieving upon approach.
Watch out for the deer! |
| Geez
Lazy Acres |
By Dale Westlund
This scenery is located near Ketchakan Alaska and was intended
to be my home base in the Ketchakan area, but I decided
to share it with everyone. It has a nice old cabin and hanger,
along with a small shop to work on all those old bush planes.
There's also a dock so you can land water born aircraft
here too and make your self right at home. The runway is
dirt and sits roughly 990ft above sealeval next to a small
lake. The area is beautyfull, be sure to look for the deer!

| Big
River Lakes |
By
Tom Fica
Located 75miles Southwest of Anchorage on the West side of
Cook Inlet, Big River Lakes are a series of seven lakes and
connecting waterways. It's a popular destination for hunters,
fishermen and canoers. It's also the East entrance of Lake
Clark Pass, making the area a good place to stop if the weather
in the pass is marginal. Included are five locations, a lodge,
two cabins and two camps. The camps are water runways, but
both have good beaches for small wheeled aircraft. |
| Scotts
Helo Air |
By
Dale Westlund
Scotts Helo Air is a search and rescue and pilot training
facility located in the Ketchikan Alaska area, just over the
mountain from Gees Lazy Acres! It sits on a small lake and
has no airstrip however, you can land on the beach with a
STOL aircraft or inside the compound with a helocopter or,
if you want you can put down on the lake with a float plane.
The compound sits down inside a "bowl" type of area
and presents somewhat of a challange to land in, espessially
with an airplane! |
| Rocky
Bay Homestead |
By
Tom Fica
This is a fictional scenery, located 21 miles South of Homer
Ak, on the North shore of the Gulf of Alaska. It's a representation
of a small Alaskan homestead where the owners are living a
semi-subsistance lifestyle. There is a small dirt strip and
dock for floatplanes. Stop by, visitors are always welcome,
it gets lonely in the bush. |
| Fairbanks
Air Camp |
By
Bernie Stockwell
Tie down that old Cub of yours, grab a burger off of the BBQ
and have a seat around the campfire! If you want a place to
relax and shoot the breeze with some of your fellow pilots
make a stop at Faibanks and join the crowd in the GA area! The
camping area as rendered in this package adds static bush
planes, dynamic smoke, campfires, people, and other objects
to the GA area of the default Fairbanks Intl' (PAFA).You can
pitch a tent to RON, grab some chow at the picnic area or
BS with other bush pilots around the Cubs and Beavers.Where
is the fishing hot this week? Ask Joe over by his Beaver! How's
that old gravel bar up near the crrek this week? Ask Tom or
John over by the BBQ, they've landed up there in the past
couple of days! |
| Hellsgate
Cabin |
By
Tom Fica
Hellsgate Cabin is located 100m West of Anchorage, not far
from Rainy Pass. The scenery is pretty simple, not much more
than a cabin and an overgrown strip, but the location is stunning.
The cabin sits on a bluff overlooking three large valleys
and is a perfect spot for a fly-out hunting trip or just a
week-end get-away. |
| Alaska
Gold Mine Airstrips |
By
James Belk
THREE very primative landing strips in Alaska that are all
bumpy and/or on a slope. They're just west of McGrath in an
area popular with gold hunters, all lying within a few miles
of each other. Ganes Creek is surrounded by trees & a
little on the short side but otherwise fairly easy. The Yankee
Creek 2 (A77) strip is longer, but on a 6% slope with a camber
at its upper end. Ester Creek is slightly steeper at 9% in
gradient, but with a more open
approach path. A set of Eddie Denney's big mesh of Alaska
is a MUST I'm afraid because the airstrips are themselves
part of the terrain: the scenery was designed using the FS2002
mesh but I'm told the FS2000 version also works well. |
| Stony
River Bend |
By
James Belk
HERE'S your big chance to take-off and land using a curved
airstrip. Stony River Bend is located just west of Merrill
Pass, very close to Tom Fica's cabin at Two Lakes (part of
his 'Merrill Pass' scenery add-on). The bumpy dirt runway
- becoming slightly overgrown and prone to waterlogging -
is marked out with wooden posts (lit with some low intensity
omnidirectional lights at night) and presents a unique challenge:
one that I haven't really sorted out just yet! There's a small
settlement just up a log-lined trail from the airfield with
a gravel service track connecting with a basic NDB (433.5
KHz) & DME (113.75 MHz) facility to help out with night
or low visibility approaches. Although Stony River Bend is
fictional, it has been based loosely on a real life runway
at Elk City in Idaho. Three miles downstream is another simple
backwoods strip called Old Stony - the narrow gravel runway
here is conventional, but it's probably in an even worse state
of repair. |
| Aleutian
Islands |
By
Jorge Salas
This is a nicely done add-on for the Aleutian chain that includes
numerous cabins, antennas and other buildings/objects that
help you fly in the Aluetians with the land marks noted on
your WAC charts. |
| Three
Lakes Rec Area
and TLRA_Update |
By
Paul Kane
Three Lakes Recreation Area is just a short flight from Bethel,
Alaska on a bearing of about 072. There is a short dirt strip
with a drop off area near lake #1, a tent campground on the
shore of lake #2, and a cabin with a float accessable dock
on lake #3. The area is acessable by plane with floats or
wheels. The GPS ID is TLR. This scenery includes seasonal
textures and dynamic scenery such as smoke. |
| Lake
Ketchikan |
By
Paul Kane
You'll find Lake Ketchikan just behind downtown Ketchikan,
Alaska. The cabin is located on the near shore close to downtown.
You can land on the water or make a beach landing. Be careful
though, the approach for a beach landing is kind of tricky.
Lots of trees in the way :-) The area is acessable by plane
with floats or wheels. The GPS ID is LKC1. This scenery includes
seasonal textures and dynamic scenery such as smoke. |

Landclass files |
By
Trev Palmer
These Landclass scenery files add life to Yukon airfields
near communities but which are 'uninhabited' in FS2002, many
Yukon airfields are remote bush fields and have no communities
nearby. ATLIN [CYSQ] is a beautiful village on Atlin Lake
in northern BC, however the only road access to it is from
the Yukon so I included it. I have many happy memories working
in a goldmine near Atlin a few years ago. |

| Coghill
Alaska |
By
James Belk
SITUATED off College Fiord at the upper end of Prince William
Sound, & not far from the airstrip at Whittier, Coghill
Lake is conveniently positioned for stopping off en-route
between the Anchorage & Valdez areas. It's the real-life
location of a holiday cabin owned by the USDA Forest Service
which can only be reached by floatplane, however I've added
2 airstrips to the area for extra interest. Coghill's main
landing strip is sandy & partially overgrown, but has
a good available length of 635m/2100' and some low-intensity
edge lights. Lead-in lights on the approach to RW07 help in
avoiding the worst of the trees and a low ridge. Ample parking
for visitors is provided in a separate ramp area amongst the
trees, reached via a basic but lit & signposted taxiway.
Adjacent access by floatplane is possible using the small
lagoon, as well as by College Fiord itself for larger loads
which can then be transported along a connecting track. The
other strip, a mile southwest across the river, only gets
seasonal use by agricultural aircraft for spraying the local
conifer plantations; its narrow gravel runway is slightly
shorter at 588m/1930' but is a more challenging proposition
with the surrounding trees and heavy brush all encroaching
on the landing strip. |

Campground |
By B. Stockewll
While cruising the forums at AVSIM I came across a post about
Fairbanks Intl' Airport having a GA "camping area"...the
poster suggested that it should be recreated for FS2002, and
I agreed, so here is my interpretation...
Tie down that old Cub of yours, grab a burger off of the BBQ
and have a seat around the campfire! If you want a place to
relax and shoot the breeze with some of your fellow pilots
make a stop at Faibanks and join the crowd in the GA area! The

| Kalwock
SB, Alaska |
By Martin Rupp
Klawock Seaplane Base. Located about 2 miles south of the
south end of Klawock runway. Semi fictional in that the
base exists but is fictional in the way it is depicted here,
since no photos are available, as is the case with many
Alaska seaplane bases. Will work with or without Ed Denny’s
FS2000 mesh. Requires TREES_V3.ZIP by Gerrish Gray.

| Red
Lake Cabin, Alaska |
By Uli Klapp
This is a simple fictional alaskan scenery located on the
northern shore
of Red Lake about 20 nm southwest of Rainy Pass (6AK). It
contains a few
small buildings, NDB, a waterstrip and a 600 m gravelstrip
on the beach.
It's not too spectacular, but a very nice starting point for
bushflying.
As well as it's just a few meters away from the Iditarod-Checkpoint
at
Finger Lake (FL - see the two flightplans included).
Works fine with both Eddie Denney's Alaska-Mesh and FS2002
Default-Mesh! |
